The Heritage Vegan Leather Dog Collar with Engravable ID Plate

The ID plate arrives blank

Every Heritage collar ships with its metal ID plate completely blank — no name, no number, no engraving of any kind. We do not engrave it, and there is no engraving field at checkout.

The plate is fixed to the strap and ready to be marked by an engraver of your choosing — most key-cutting counters, trophy shops and jewellers offer the service. What you have engraved, and where you have it done, is entirely your decision. Please order on that basis.

Vegan leather, and why we chose it

The outer is a premium microfibre with a simulated leather grain. It is not animal hide, and we think that is the better material for something a dog wears every day.

• It does not mind rain. Hide absorbs water, stiffens and cracks. This does not.
• Colour-stable. The finish is through-coloured rather than surface-dyed, so scuffs stay subtle.
• Wipe-clean. A damp cloth removes mud and salt water. No conditioning, no oiling.
• No animal hide. The look of saddle leather without it.

Built in layers

The quality is in the parts you can see and feel.

• Padded neoprene-type lining against the neck — soft, breathable and quick to dry. Orange on Emerald and Slate, black on Burgundy, olive on Chestnut.
• Antique-brass hardware throughout — roller pin buckle, welded D-ring, fixed keeper loop and dome-head rivets, all in the same aged gold tone.
• Double contrast topstitch running both edges and boxing the ID plate panel.
• A riveted metal ID plate, set flush into the outer face on two dome rivets, so there is nothing hanging to jingle or catch.

Choose your set

• Collar Only — the collar with its integrated ID plate.
• Collar + 1.5 m Rope Lead — adds a round braided rope lead with reflective tracer threads, a padded matching handle and an antique-brass swivel trigger hook.
• Collar + 5 m Retractable Lead — adds a retractable reel lead with a thumb brake. Its clip is black plastic and does not match the collar hardware.

Fit guide — an estimate, not a measurement

Sizes are supplied by weight band only. We do not have a neck girth figure for this collar, so we are not going to invent one. The breeds below are a guide to the band, not a promise of fit — two dogs of the same weight can differ by 10 cm at the neck.

If your dog sits between two bands, or is thick-necked for its weight, choose the larger size.

Care

General guidance for microfibre and neoprene — no supplier care instruction was provided with this product.

• Wipe the outer with a damp cloth and dry it with a soft towel.
• Rinse the lining in cool fresh water after swimming or beach use, and air-dry away from direct heat.
• Do not machine wash, tumble dry, bleach or iron.
• Do not use leather conditioner, oil or solvent — this is not hide and does not need feeding.
