A proper bed for pets that like to lean

Most dogs and cats do not sleep flat. They curl into a corner, press their back against something solid, and rest their chin on whatever is highest. This bed is built around that: a deep, generously filled bolster runs around three sides, while the front edge sits low so your pet can walk straight in.

The inside is lined in a soft ribbed corduroy-style fabric with a pom-pom trim along the seam. The cushion sits as a separate piece inside the rim, so it can be lifted out, plumped and turned.

Choosing a size

Measure your pet nose to tail base while they are lying down, and add about 15–20 cm. Pets that sprawl need a size up; those that curl tightly can go a size down.

Sizes are the bed's outside measurements. The raised sides mean the sleeping area inside is smaller than the outside footprint — if your pet likes to stretch right out, choose the next size up.

Cats: the S and M sizes suit most cats. A cat curls into a much smaller circle than a dog of the same weight, and the raised sides give the enclosed feeling cats tend to look for. Larger sizes are not unsuitable, simply more space than most cats will use.

Caring for your bed

Keep the care label on your bed and follow it first.

  • Vacuum or brush the surface regularly to lift hair and loose dirt.
  • Spot clean marks promptly with a damp cloth and a mild, fragrance-free detergent. Blot, do not rub.
  • Wash cold on a gentle cycle, on its own, with a mild detergent free of dyes and fragrances. No bleach, no fabric softener.
  • Reshape while damp and dry flat, or tumble dry on low. Avoid high heat.
  • Make sure it is completely dry before use — filling holds moisture longer than fabric.
  • Do not iron or dry clean.
