The Soirée Rhinestone Collar for Dogs & Cats

Five white rhinestones, and a collar built around them

Emerald-cut white rhinestones sit in fluted gold-tone settings along a smooth, colour-matched strap. They catch the light as your dog moves, which is the whole point of the thing — this is a dress collar, made to be noticed at the park.

The hardware is deliberately two-tone: gold-tone stone settings against a silver-tone buckle, keeper and D-ring, with metal-eyeletted adjustment holes. It reads as jewellery rather than tack.

Get the size right first

This is the one thing worth two minutes of your time. Measure the neck — do not guess from the breed.

1. Run a soft tape around the base of the neck, where a collar naturally sits.
2. Keep it snug but not tight.
3. Slide two fingers flat under the tape. That is your measurement.

The sizes overlap on purpose. A 37 cm neck fits both M and L. Between two sizes, or thick-necked for the weight? Take the larger one — a collar can be tightened, never lengthened.

The girth figures come straight from the manufacturer's chart. The weights are our own estimate from the breeds it names, so treat them as a steer rather than a limit. The largest size stops at 52 cm, so giant breeds are outside this range.

Cats — please read this part

The collar suits most cats at XS or S; adult cats usually measure 20–30 cm at the neck.

It fastens with a pin buckle and has no breakaway safety release. Vets recommend breakaway collars for cats, because a fixed collar can catch on a branch or a fence. Do not leave this collar on an unsupervised cat.

Materials, stated in full

The manufacturer gives the composition as cowhide, PU leather, a metal buckle and white rhinestones. The strap is built as two bonded layers — a coloured outer face and a black inner face — and we have not been told which layer is which, so we are not going to guess for you.

The stones are rhinestones. They are not crystal, not gemstones, and we make no claim about how firmly the settings are fixed. Check them over now and then, as you would any decorative fastening.

The matching lead

Choosing Matching Lead (120 cm) in the size list buys the lead on its own — not a collar, and not a set. It is 120 cm long and 1.5 cm wide, in the same five colours, with a silver-tone swivel snap hook and a riveted handle.

The lead carries no rhinestones. It is a plain strap, made to match rather than to sparkle.

We have no maximum load figure for the lead, so please do not treat it as a restraint for a dog that pulls hard.

Care

General guidance — no care instructions were supplied with this product.

• Wipe with a barely damp cloth and dry with a soft towel.
• Do not soak, machine wash, tumble dry, bleach or iron. Water sitting in the stone settings will dull them.
• Keep it off the dog for swimming and bath time.
• Store flat rather than coiled tightly, so the settings are not pressed against each other.
