Size guide: trace your dog's front paw standing on paper and measure it. Inside length by width: S 60 by 40 mm (2.4 by 1.6 in), M 65 by 46 mm (2.6 by 1.8 in), L 78 by 58 mm (3.1 by 2.3 in). Between sizes, choose the larger.

Small boots for everyday walks.

The Patter Boots are soft moulded EVA shoes for dogs, shaped as a short boot that encloses the whole paw. Round ventilation holes run across the toe and sides, and a scalloped rim finishes the base of the toe.

Made to go on easily.

The collar opens wide and is finished with a soft stitched lining. Slide the paw in, wrap the wide hook-and-loop strap around the collar, and press it closed.

A tread underneath.

The sole carries a moulded chevron tread along its full length.

Four colours. Black with a red strap · Red with a black strap · Rose Red · Yellow.

Finding the right size

Measure the paw, not the dog.

  1. Stand your dog on a sheet of paper.
  2. Trace around one front paw while it bears weight — not lifted.
  3. Measure the length and width of the outline.
  4. Choose the size just larger than your measurement.

Sizes are measured by hand, so allow for small variation. Between sizes, choose the larger.

Breed examples

A starting point only — paws vary within every breed, so always measure. Typical paw widths are taken from published dog-boot sizing charts.

Paws wider than 58 mm (2.3 in) will not fit. Border Collies, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds and other large breeds usually have wider paws.

Before the first walk

Let your dog get used to the shoes indoors, a few minutes at a time. Check the fit and the skin under the strap after each wear, and take them off if your dog limps, stumbles repeatedly or shows any rubbing. The holes let water and grit in, so they are not waterproof. They are not a treatment for a sore or injured paw — for that, please see your vet — and they are not a substitute for avoiding hot pavement.
